My experience in different policy settings has given me insight in how future-oriented visions can be developed and how they can be translated into concrete programmes of actions.

My previous experience in audit gave me a good sense of analysis, which helps me to judge feasibility of such implementation plans.

I love to work in an international environment. My drive is to shape up cooperation to help making the best use of assets of European areas for sustainable territorial development and to help solving common issues. Boosting economic, ecologic and social opportunities of territories to improve people’s lives and reduce the increasing disparities.

I have been positively assessed by peers on negotiation skills, dealing with different cultural circumstances and facilitating teams to reach their goals.

Working on European issues for 25 years has given me a clear view on the European institutions.

I have experience in European Territorial Cooperation (Interreg), European Territorial Cohesion Policy, Sustainable Agriculture Policy, EU Fisheries policy and funding.

I’ve practiced long term, strategic policy development, international negotiations, programme development, implementation and evaluation, project assessment, monitoring and implementation, programme management, and I have managed teams and change.

I’ve captured the main paradigm shift for Interreg NWE in a chapter of a book edited by prof. E.Medeiros.

I speak and write English and Dutch, I understand French and German.
